Eating Enough, Headaches During Exercise, and 1st Step for Weight Loss
How do you know if you’re eating enough?
This is obviously different for everyone, but the biggest thing is that your symptoms subside. What symptoms, you ask?
-You no longer obsess over food (when to eat, what you’ll eat, how you’ll eat…)
-You feel satisfied.
-You have lots of energy.
-You don’t have headaches.
-You get hunger signals like gurgling and grumpling.
-You feel more calm and less irritable.
-If you’re still waiting for a period, you may begin to feel achy and more emotional. You start to notice other parts of your body come back online (you may start to smell more and acne comes back) kind of like a second puberty.
Why do I have a headache every time I exercise?
This could be for a number of reasons! My immediate thought is that your workout isn’t right for you at this time or it’s too intense for the amount of fuel you’re giving your body. Try upping your food intake or lessening the intensity or length of your workout. Consider your goal; if you’re working to get pregnant, take a step back from your training. Make sure you’re appropriately hydrated with a bit of salt in your water and even electrolyte cocktails if possible.
What is the first step to losing weight after recovery?
I’d say that the first step to losing weight after recovery is fully rejecting all forms of dieting. Watch to see all the ways that it has crept into your life and fight back on it. This goes through not only what you’re eating/not eating but down to the quality of what you’re eating. Stop getting products that try to help you escape calories like low fat or low sugar. Eat the closest you can to the real thing knowing that food is more processed when experiments have been done to remove parts of it. Watch the media you consume as well. Make the commitment to officially quit dieting. When you separate from that, weight loss becomes a lot easier and healthier.
